Making Data Useful

This presentation describes activities that the North Central Texas Council of Governments’ Research and Information Services (RIS) department undertakes to make data accessible and meaningful. Of particular emphasis is the various data products and services available from RIS. These include  U.S. Census data, land use data, appraisal data, development data, weather data, ortho photos, and more. RIS also has a skilled development team that has built a dynamic framework for interaction with the various data layers. An example of a practical application of the interface is included in the presentation.
